MEDIANON (MEFENAMIC ACID)

FORMULATION:
CAPSULE:
Each capsule contains:
Mefenamic Acid 250 mL/500 mg

SUSPENSION:
Each 5 mL (1 teaspoonful) contains:
Mefenamic Acid 500 mg

INDICATIONS:
For the treatment of mild to moderate pain including muscular, traumatic and dental pain, headache, post-operative and post- partum pain. Fever associated with a wide variety of febrile condition in children and adults. dysmenorrhea associated with dysfunctional uterine bleeding and presence of intrauterine device.

PRECAUTIONS:
Administer with cautions to patients with inflammatory disease of the Gastro-intestinal tract. If rashes occur, the drug should be promptly withdrawn. May cause an acute exacerbation asthma.

DOSAGE:
Children: 6 months to 1 year: 5 mL (1 teaspoonful) 2 to 4 years: 10 mL(2 teaspoonfuls) 5 to 8 years:15 mL(3 teaspoonfuls) 9 to 12 years: 20 mL(4 teaspoonfuls) Every 8 hours or as prescribed by physician.
Adult: Capsule 500 mg three times per day. Dosage may be reduced to 250 mg three or four times per day in the occasion patients unable to tolerate the 500 mg dosage level. In dysmenorrheal, Administration should starts with onset of menses and Continue for five days until discomfort or flow ceases, whichever is less. In menorrhagia, the dosage is 500 mg every eight hours beginning with the onset of menstrual flow and continuing for five days until cessation of flow, whichever is less.

AVAILABILITY:
CAPSULE: Boxes of 100 capsules x 500 mg/250 mg in blister pack.
SUSPENSION: Bottle of 60 mL x 50 mg / 5 mL suspension tutti frutti and peppermint flavor.
